About Digital Marketing
What is digital marketing?
The short answer is it’s the way of the future. The long answer is it involves reaching out to your targeted audiences and markets via internet-connected electronic devices, from computers to smartphones to tablets. Digital marketing focuses on channels that include search engines, email, social media, multimedia content, and apps connecting with prospects, leads, and existing customers.
Would my business benefit from digital marketing?
Absolutely! A number of businesses in certain industries still approach it with caution, but we believe it’s counterintuitive when you consider how a majority of consumers make buying decisions today on their phones or turn to digital media at every hour of the day.
Do I need a website?
Yes. A website is your brand’s online footprint and help set your brand presence and credibility. In your customers’ eyes, a poorly run website – or the lack of one – signals a business that isn’t worthy of attention and trust.
Should I blog? How often should I publish blog posts or create new content?
Blogs are another online proofing and they feature news and updates about your company, showcase your products and services, and establish your thought leadership. We recommend that you publish blog posts or fresh content regularly.
How do I build my brand online or digital identity?
We start by asking the right questions: what do you do? What are you trying to achieve with your business? We help you come up with clear and tangible goals to identify, build, and strengthen your brand online, and then grow your business from there. We’re in this together!
What is SEO and why should it be important to me?
Search engine optimisation (SEO) harnesses on-site and off-site tools and techniques to ensure that your prospective and existing customers find you on the internet, and that the incoming traffic converts to sales and business. We devise customised marketing plans to help you attain significant search rankings in 2-3 months. We also specialise in local SEO or achieving results in location-based searches.
What is Pay-Per-Click?
PPC is a digital marketing platform where one buys web traffic. Here, advertisers pay a fee every time their ads get clicked. While Google advertising is the most popular form, Facebook and other channels also offer robust PPC ad models.
How about Facebook advertising?
Ahhh, Facebook, our favourite way of generating new business for clients. Adverts may appear in Facebook’s News Feed, both in mobile and desktop, and they’re a terrific way to reach out to the over 1.8 billion users that the platform has. We’ve written extensively about how awesome Facebook advertising can be in helping you reach every market or niche you can imagine. We’re biased and we think Facebook ads is the single biggest tool that can make a radical difference in your marketing!
What is a buyer persona?
It represents your ideal customer based on market research as well as data. Information included in personas usually includes customer demographics, patterns of behavior and consumption, and what makes them tick. A buyer persona lends insight about buying decisions and the attitudes, preferences, and challenges that drive them. At Collective Digital, we help you profile your ideal customers and reach them in no time.
What is content marketing?
In this discipline, a company creates content for either on or off site use for the purpose of gaining links, social shares, and traffic. It’s been around for decades, and it puts a premium on quality along with frequency and regularity of posting content.
What is inbound marketing?
HubSpot, which coined this term, defines it as attracting customers via relevant, helpful content and adding value at every stage in the customer’s buying journey. Unlike outbound marketing, it doesn’t fight for potential customers’ attention, but instead creates content in blogs, search engines, and social media to address customer needs and problems as well as build trust for the business.
What is data-driven marketing?
Here, marketers gain insights and trends based on an in-depth analysis of data as collected from consumer interactions as well as engagements. It can lead to better decisions on everything from the timing of ads to customising marketing copy for specific audience segments.
What is performance marketing?
This comprehensive term covers online marketing advertising programs where merchants pay affiliates when a specific action is completed, such as a lead, sign-up, conversion, or sale. Here, the purchase pays only for measurable results.
What is a sales funnel?
This model represents the stages of the journey that potential customers go through on the way to a purchase, from the first interaction with your brand to eventually buying your product or service. A sales funnel is divided into a number of steps, usually including awareness, interest, evaluation, decision, purchase, and reevaluation, and repurchase. We adopt tools and tactics to optimise every stage of the sales process.
What is a lead magnet?
It’s an incentive that a marketer offers to potential buyers in exchange for their email address or other contact information. Effective lead magnets include ebooks, tutorials, cheat sheets, resource lists, templates, spreadsheets, gated content, infographics, educational video, and webinars. They’re a practical way to generate leads for your business! You should always try and offer more low cost or free value than your competition.
Do I need email marketing?
Email returns some of the highest ROI among digital marketing channels, and it’s a highly personal, private way of reaching out to your customers. Consider, too, that people actually granted you permission to market to them through providing their email details! People check their inbox several times a day, usually on their phone, and email newsletters regularly sent out are a valuable way of communicating directly with them.
Why do I need to be on social media?
Before a potential customer calls you or walks into your store, there is an extremely high chance they will look for you on social media first. Social media offers businesses like yours the unique opportunity to connect directly with your customers like no other advertising outlet can. Whether on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and Pinterest, you can make meaningful connections and conversions on social media when done correctly.
While internal teams are much more familiar with the company and its offerings, a business sometimes doesn’t have the time or skills to manage their social media efforts effectively. This is where we come in and offer our expertise to handle your social media requirements!
Does design matter?
A resounding yes – it draws in your prospects and makes them stay awhile instead of clicking away and leaving in an instant. Great design will make them stick around long enough to read your content, and coupled with good development, it provides a wonderful user experience on your site and web properties. Did we mention that design is also an integral part of your branding?
Do I need video?
Online users love, love, love video – so much, in fact, that over a billion hours of video content are consumed on YouTube every single day! Video is a high-engagement format that you can definitely explore and share on multiple platforms.
How do I collect testimonials?
You need to ask the right questions, learn how to get responses, and initiate the discussion on what makes you great and what sets you apart from your competitors. We can do the dirty work for you.
What is marketing automation?
Here, technology takes the front seat and automates several repetitive tasks in your marketing campaign. We maximise tools and techniques to design, execute, and automate a time-bound marketing workflow, helping you achieve the best outcomes in an optimal amount of time.
How can I benefit from AI and chatbots?
These cutting-edge but cost-effective solutions can assist in your customer service and engagement, data tracking and analysis, and enhanced lead generation, nurturing, and conversion. AI is the way of the future and we can help your company build its customer service-based artificial brain!
About Collective Digital
How did you start as an agency?
We were deeply immersed in direct sales but bore the brunt of the entire industry changing overnight, and thus had to migrate our staff and expertise to a new model. From there, we integrated our experience in direct sales into digital marketing for creative independence and time freedom (us and our people) and the best possible returns (our clients).Read about our story of transitioning from door knocking to digital.
What sets you apart from other agencies?
Collective Digital may look just like any other digital marketing agency out there, but we are REAL, genuine people who are here to help. Aside from our technical and professional qualifications, we pride ourselves with the ability to ask the right questions, such as:
- Why do you do what you do?
- What are you truly trying to achieve with your business?
- What victories, losses, and lessons enable you to attain your goals?
We dig deep and differentiate your business by telling your story. We are in the business of storytelling that matters, brings real results, and takes your business to where you want it to be. Amid so much online noise, a stock formula of marketing tactics, and a painful lot of industry players, we try to stand out with the singular way we try to tell your brand story.
What types of companies do you work with?
We work with business owners and entrepreneurs of varying sizes and from different industries, especially those who seek to share their story, grow, and build strong, long-lasting relationships with their customers. Our backgrounds, however, give us considerable exposure to businesses in the following segments and industries:
- Energy (particularly in Renewables like Solar)
- Information Technology (IT)
- Gyms and Fitness Centers
- Hospitality, Food and Beverage
- Health Insurance
- Car Wash
- Home Improvement
- Medical Spa and Wellness Centers
- Online Coaching
- Local Government Units in South Australia
What is the biggest challenge of initiating new marketing efforts, such as a new website or PPC campaign? How can I prepare?
Usually it takes time to get buy-in from the whole leadership team, readily because there isn’t a full understanding yet of the new strategy, methodologies, and technology to be employed. You can prepare for this challenge by kickstarting the digital education of your team, where regular meetings can help communicate your digital marketing goals. As your agency of choice, we equip you with the right tools and information to map out your digital future.
How do you monitor the success of marketing campaigns? What KPIs do you track?
We discuss and decide with the client which KPIs are most important for the growth of their brand. As a starting point, though, we consider metrics reflecting your individual progress in aspects like traffic generation, lead nurturing and conversion, etc. vis-à-vis marketing spend. We create a dashboard, track them every month or an agreed frequency, and present it to the client for full transparency.
How do I get started?
Simply book a free 30-minute strategy session with us, and we’ll take it from there.
Will I be locked into a long-term contract?
Nope! No lock-in contracts. All our agreements are month to month and you can stop anytime.
Is there a minimum starting price or budget?
If you’re looking to dip your fingers into digital marketing, it is important to have a budget for testing. This can vary from one business to another, and make sure there is room for flexibility.
What are your payment terms?
Our payment terms vary depending on which services your business needs. We will always clearly outline our payment terms in our proposals.
What locations do you cover?
We have offices in the Gold Coast and Adelaide, Australia, but we can service anyone in the world with an internet connection.
How will I be able to contact you? Can we come and see you in person?
You will get our personal mobile numbers and email addresses. We love Skyping with clients who are too far away to meet in person, and for those that are close enough, we never say no to coffee dates!
How should we on-board and train our own marketing and sales team?
When the leads start pouring in, it’s important that you are prepared on your end with your own sales team. If you don’t already have a sales superstar closing your leads, then we can help you get set up with one by providing you the essential sales training and strategies you need to convert your leads into customers.
How long should I wait to see results?
Every campaign is different. But generally speaking, after a testing phase, results will start pouring in after about 1-2 weeks!
